4:Truths of the Heart

agony: striving; pain

commensurate: to adjust, to proportionate

pinnacle: a pointed summit

anguish: extreme pain, either of body or mind

travail: hard work; concluding state of pregnancy

verity: truth, reality

ephemeral: short-lived, anything lasting but a day

doomed: marked for certain death

grieve: cause to feel sorrow

puny: small and feeble

inexhaustible: cannot be entirely consumed or used up

prevail: prove superior, continue to exist

prop: a support

pillar: a fundamental principle or practice

clang: make a loud noise

gland: any of various organs that synthesize the substances needed by the body

His grief grieves on no universal bones, leaving no scars. He writes not of the heart but of the glands.
